Foley started almost as a dare - a challenge between two long time friends to blend their mutual love of pop into a meaningful spin on pop music

Frustrated with the standard model of two-piece acts being pigeonholed into 1 vocalist and 1 producer, Foley made a point to be equal. Songs are crafted together, 50/50; with neither party more important than the other.

In a male dominated industry where female vocalists are often commoditized, it's an important distinction to make.

Foley have just released their second single and the long list of achievements that followed is proof that going against the grain works.

‘TaLk About It’ has spent 3 consecutive weeks in the Official NZ Hot 20 Chart, hitting #6, while also landing at #10 on Spotify’s Viral 50 & #7 on iTunes’ overall charts.

‘Talk About It’ also became the 3rd most-added kiwi single to radio during release week, receiving extensive radio love from NZ’s biggest pop stations - securing playlists on ZM, The Edge (& The Edge TV) and More FM.

Foley now have well over 200K catalogue streams, all as an independent artist.

This success came after the already impressive release of their debut.

Released in October 2017, ‘Settle’ immediately hit radio stations around NZ and landed the duo an invite to play New Zealand’s largest New Years festival, Rhythm & Vines after only one month in the public eye

The pair place heavy importance on performing live, enlisting a live drummer and using as many instruments as possible to create meaningful recreations of their tracks - with great results noted on their recent national tour with fellow pop band Openside.

Behind the scenes, the duo have formed a relationship with some of NZ’s best producers: Josh Fountain (Thomston, LEISURE, MAALA) and Djeisan Suskov (Mitch James, Matthew Young) - trying new sounds and tearing apart old habits.
