You turn up on December 28, set up your tent and get welcomed to your very own Pre-Party for Rhythm and Vines - the Waiohika Warmup. From then on, your home is nestled within the vines for 4 days as you and your friends see in the New Year. Shower and toilet facilities located throughout the campgrounds, and a range of pre-setup camping options.
Exclusive to R&V onsite campers only, the Waiohika Warmup is a chance for festival goers to get loose and limber on the night of December 28. 3 stages will be in full flight which include the Rhythm Stage, Garden Stage and the Goose Club. Our exclusive party for 15,000 campers, will get you primed for the dance marathon ahead.
Situated in the stunning Vines Amphitheatre, the One Vines NZ Stage at Rhythm and Vines will be your temple for the remaining few days of the year.
The Rhythm Stage returns. Hearty bass and an expansive dance floor. Come prepared to dance & boogie the night away. All will be revealed when the gates open.
Legend has it that once you find yourself in the Cellar, you will never dance the same again.
The Vines Village is located within the heart of the festival and is the perfect meeting point. Foodies heaven and shade to keep you sheltered from the sun or rain, retail stores from Crocs and Hallensteins, 3 on 3 basketball court and more.
Be greeted by Grand Central as you walk into the festival site. Shop Rhythm Merch store, food vendors, arts and crafts. Grand Central provides.
It’s easy to over-do it with 3 days of festivities so make sure you are replenishing your body and soul while at the festival. Our safe space and wellness area is a calm oasis, including yoga, avocado toast, nourishing treats, and plenty of space to rest and rejuvenate. Escape the crowd or simply come have a chat.
We love to create spaces that are stimulating for all of the senses. However, we know this can sometimes get overwhelming. The Haven is our safe space area that is located next to St Johns and other medical services. The Haven provides a relaxing sanctuary where trained staff are available for anyone that needs extra support or a quiet moment away. We want everyone to feel safe, so take care of each other. Visit The Haven or tell security if you notice something that doesn’t seem right.

Slide your way into the new year with the Waterslide. Perfect for the impulsive, the bold, and the brave. Shoot down the hillside on a man-made slide, straight into a pond that’s waiting for you at the bottom of the hill. You can't really say you have done Rhythm without slipping down the Waiohika hillside with absolutely no sugars given.
Make sure you have your meeting point sorted with friends to catch the final countdown of the year. A masterfully crafted countdown video will make you laugh and cry as we farewell the decade and welcome in the new.
If the waterslide within the festival isn't enough be sure to check out the Rere Rockslide, this waterfall that creates a natural waterslide is located at a 30min drive east of Gisborne and is a great way to refresh throughout the day.
Another great way to spend your day out of the campsite is heading over to Wainui beach, which is known for its good surf along the East cape and located just six kilometers from the centre of Gisborne city.
