Tāmaki Makaurau based DJ BBYFACEKILLA has been making waves on an international level. Unbound by the restrictions of Gender, Genre and Format, their sets weave together a captivating blend of high-energy percussive club tracks, infused with fiery club edits, footwork, juke, house and techno. BFK's taste and flow is heavily influenced by prolific collectives such as JUKE BOUNCE WERK and Discwoman. Their Indigenous Samoan and Niuean Roots have drawn them to these producers/dj’s and their similarity to the sounds of the polyrhythmic patè, a traditional Samoan drum. Genres like Footwork and House resonate in a sub cultural clash of the industrial and traditional rhythms. After leaving an undeniable mark in the local scene following their Boiler Room set with the pro Queer BIPOC club night FILTH, they have gone on to grace the stages of renowned festivals all over Aotearoa. Additionally, they have provided support for international acts like Sherelle, DJ Plead, Logic1000, Kush Jones, Skin On Skin, TAAHLIAH, Yung Singh, Jarreau Vandal, Eartheater and Jersey club queen UNIIQU3. BBYFACEKILLA’s strong community focus and sense of identity, their collaborations with local club nights like FILTH and NYMPHO, and their radio shows for their platform Hunting Ground make them a powerful force in Aotearoa’s club circuit & beyond. This will be BBYFACEKILLA's debut performance at Rhythm and Vines.
