If you’ve never seen Turnstile live, prepare yourself. The moshpit has entered the chat! The Baltimore-based hardcore band has redefined what punk can sound and feel like, and now they’re bringing that energy to Rhythm & Vines 2025 on December 29.
From underground sweatbox shows to Grammy nominations, Turnstile’s rise has been explosive. Their 2021 album GLOW ON was a genre-bending masterpiece - dreamy, aggressive, euphoric - and it catapulted them into the global spotlight. Now, they’re ready to tear up the One NZ Vines Stage in Gisborne.
The anthem that starts the fire. This track opens GLOW ON with a bang - distorted guitars, pounding drums, and a chorus that feels like a war cry. Produced by Mike Elizondo, who was Dr Dre's protege and other work includes 50 Cent, Eminem and Linkin Park.
Shoegaze meets hardcore. Turnstile’s most melodic track to date, “MYSTERY” blends dreamy textures with punk urgency and was the lead single from their critically acclaimed LP GLOW ON. This one’s for the golden hour - fists in the air, sun setting, crowd swaying.
This track isn’t just a song - it’s a movement. The short film that accompanies it is pure art, and the breakdown live? Goosebumps. The lyric to scream: “I want to touch a level of clarity / I want to feel your love!”
Turnstile Love Connection was an EP, surprisingly dropped in June 2021, also featuring tracks Holiday, No Surprise and Mystery.
A perfect blend of punk aggression and pop sensibility, “HOLIDAY” is built for festival stages. The track was released on June 27, 2021 and featured on Jimmy Kimmel live.
From their 2018 album 'Time & Space', this track is pure hardcore - no frills, just fury. Noted on REDDIT and fan reviews, Real Thing remained the only song from the album regularly featured in live setlists. The official music video, produced by Mortis Studio (notable for projects with Adult Swim and Earl Sweatshirt).
Pro tip: If you’re going side-of-stage, this is the one that’ll test your stamina.
And because we can't get enough. Let's watch Never Enough at Glastonbury earlier this year. The fizz for Gizz is getting out of control.
