Entering into the festival's 15th year, Rhythm and Vines has seen over 250,000 punters enter through the gates of Gisborne's Waiohika Estate. Celebrating their New Year's with friends, while of course, witnessing historical live performances from over 500 acts from here and around the world.
These acts are more than just a name on a poster. They tell a story. A story of pop culture, musical trends that shaped the festival landscape here in New Zealand. From bedroom producers to your mate's mate's band, right through to some of the biggest acts in the world, including some of Aotearoa's very own.
Come travel through time and witness a retrospective look at how the R&V poster and lineup has evolved over the years, from the BBQ reggae days of 2003 through to 2006, darling days of indie rock, electro, drum and bass, grime and trap, towards the growth of hip hop and EDM we feel and hear today.
This exhibition aims to reflect on the past with a view to the future of New Zealand's longest lasting multi day music and camping festival.
