GETTING TO R&V

Rhythm & Vines is held at the beautiful Waiohika Estate. The East Cape and Gisborne Region is a stunning place to explore. We recommend that you take the time to experience all that there is to offer on the journey to and from Rhythm and Vines. Below are some tips to help you get your ass to Rhythm and Vines.

DRIVE

85% of our customers drive to Rhythm and Vines. Gisborne is a 6.5 hour drive from Auckland and Wellington. Please take regular stops (or pull up and have a nap) and drive to the conditions. There is no need to rush. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Look out for rest areas along the way. The Police work with local communities and offer free food and replenishments which is a great way to break up the trip.

The #roadtorhythm is all part of the experience - turn up the music, get some car snacks, and enjoy the ride.

HELPFUL TIPS

Police will be breath testing over the holiday period, so no drink driving - encourage your friends to do the same.

Tairawhiti roads are also running their annual fatigue stop in the Manganuku rest area on December 28th. Take a break, grab a free coffee and sausage sizzle, chill out to some tunes and take in the beautiful Waioeka Gorge scenery.

PARKING

There will be parking available at the festival site for those driving to R&V. The entrance to the car park is Gate D off Back Ormond Road,  just past Grey’s Bush Reserve (if driving from Gisborne to R&V). The car park is alcohol-free – Police will be patrolling the site. Charges may apply for single day parking (parking is free for Onsite Campers).

FLY

AIR RHYTHM

Due to the remoteness of Gisborne, there used to be only one airline that flies into Gisborne (Air NZ). To cater for the demand, we have launched Air Rhythm flights from Auckland to Gisborne. They sell out out fast, so get in quick. Air Rhythm tickets will go on sale later on in the year.

AIR NZ

Air New Zealand operates 5 flights into Gisborne from Auckland and 2-3 from Wellington. Prices get expensive, so the earlier you book the better.

BUS

NATIONAL BUSES

InterCity is your best bet if you’re busing to Gisborne (if they aren't already booked out).

R&V BUSES

If you are staying in Gisborne during Rhythm and Vines, R&V operates buses to take you out to the festival and back. Bus tickets will be available to buy later on in the year.
