R&V EXPERIENCE

The Rhythm and Vines experience is like no other. A proven formula entrenched in New Zealand festival folklore. Rolling hills, natural amphitheatres, man-made waterslides, multiple fast serving bars and food villages, camping amongst the vines and just incredible New Year's vibes. You just have to experience it to believe it.

A professional festival team with year's of experience come together each year to ensure that your Rhythm and Vines journey is one that will stay with you forever. A safe and fun place to party with you and your friends while enjoying celebrating the year that was, and the many adventures yet to come.

THE CAMPING EXPERIENCE

You turn up on December 28, set up your tent and get welcomed to your very own Pre-Party for Rhythm and Vines. From then on, your home is nestled within the vines for 4 days as you and your friends see in the New Year. Shower and toilet facilities located throughout the campgrounds, and a range of pre-setup camping options.

WAIOHIKA WARMUP

Exclusive to R&V onsite campers only, the Waiohika Warmup is a chance for festival goers to get loose and limber on the night of December 28. 3 stages will be in full flight which include Greenhouse stage, hosted by Room One Live, Garden Stage, hosted by Too Cut and Cellar Stage, hosted by Limitless Touring. Our exclusive party for 14,500 campers, will get you primed for the dance marathon ahead.

THE MANY STAGES OF RHYTHM

The festival venue of Waiohika Estate boasts two main festival amphitheatres (Vines and Rhythm), along with enough nooks and crannies for you to discover your next favourite act hidden away in a garden stage or forest.

VODAFONE VINES STAGE

Situated in the stunning Vines Amphitheatre. The Rhythm and Vines mainstage will be your temple for the remaining few days of the decade.

JAGERMEISTER RHYTHM STAGE

The Jagermeister Rhythm Stage returns for a second year. Hearty bass and expansive dance floor situated between the Rhythm Shipping Containers. Come here prepared to dance your ass off.

CELLAR STAGE

Legend has it that once you find yourself in the Cellar, you will never dance the same again.

GARDEN STAGE

You will find your new favourite band hidden in amongst the lush gardens of Waiohika Homestead.

GREENHOUSE BAR & GARDEN

Exclusive to campers, expect a better world with these Greenhouse emissions.

THE CHILLER

Formerly known as the Fridge, The Chiller is not a place to chill. Some of the world's best friendships have been found between these four small walls. You will love the Chiller... if you can find it.

R&V CINEMA

New R&V2019 - the Rhythm and Vines Cinema will be showcasing some classics for those wanting a bit of Rhythm and Chill.

GOOSE CLUB

A TASTE OF RHYTHM

Four days of dancing and festivalling requires sustenance. That is why we invite some of the country's best mobile food producers to keep our beloved R&V'ers well fed.

VYPE VILLAGE

The Vype Village is located within the heart of the festival and is the perfect meeting point. With over 20 Food Vendors operating, and a huge Vype shadesail to keep you sheltered from the sun or rain.

GRAND CENTRAL

Be greeted by Grand Central as you walk into the festival site. Shop Rhythm Merch store, food vendors, arts and crafts. Grand Central provides.

WELLNESS CENTRE

It’s easy to over-do it with 3 days of festivities so make sure you are replenishing your body and soul while at the festival. Our wellness area is a calm oasis, including yoga, avocado toast, nourishing treats, and plenty of space to rest and rejuvenate. Escape the crowd or simply come have a chat.

THE BARS OF RHYTHM

The festival has a range of fast serving bars and unique experiential bars located across the festival site. Campsite bars open from 10:30am for campers, with the festival bars opening at 2pm from December 29. Below is a select few of them:

CLEAN COLLECTIVE CANOPY BAR

Head up the Vines amphitheatre hill to the Clean Collective Canopy bar to enjoy the flavours of Clean Collective. Soak up the views, burn some calories and drink clean while you are at it.

The Meister Bar

Conveniently located next to the Jagermeister Rhythm Stage, The Meister Bar is the place to be this year with an all new experience coming for 2019. #BeTheMeister

Red Bull Playhouse BAR

Enjoy the full range of Red Bull Energy and Organics at the Red Bull Playhouse. Looking back over the festival site while tucking into the Garden Stage for a boogie to your new favourite band.

Mumm VINTAGE CLUB

Exclusive to Vintage Club Premium pass holders. Come and enjoy a wider drinks selection including Beefeater Pink Gin cocktails, Maker's Anonymous Wine and MUMM champagne to name a few.

GREENHOUSE GARDEN BAR

Exclusive to campers, the Greenhouse Garden Bar is tucked in the vines nearby 9000 Treble, Sundown and Premium Campers. The place to be, open 10:30am each day.

Sunshine Brewery

Come enjoy some local craft brews from Sunshine Brewery.

UNIQUELY RHYTHM

We encourage people to get around the festival to experience the full offering of R&V.

The first light

Tairāwhiti - "The coast upon which the sun shines across the water." Gisborne being the land of the first light means you will be first to bring in the New Year.

DRESS UP DAY

Make sure you pack your best costume this year as December 30th will again be our Dress Up Day. Celebrating 10 years of fashion at Rhythm & Vines we expect to see some steller get ups that best represent the past decade and anything that has now turned 10, prizes will be up for grabs so get creative!

VYPE WATERSLIDE

Slide your way into the new decade with the Vype Waterslide. A man-made shoot down the hillside into the waiting pond at the bottom of the hill. You can't really say you have done Rhythm without vyping down the Waiohika hills.

KINGPIN SKATE JAM

Come check out some of Rhythm's best skateboarders.

R&V COUNTDOWN VIDEO AND NEW YEAR'S SHOW

Make sure you have your meeting point sorted with friends to catch the final countdown of 2019. A masterfully crafted countdown video will make you laugh and cry as we farewell the decade and welcome in the new.

THE GIZZY EXPERIENCE

The beauty of the East Coast is at your fingertips. We encourage visitors to Gisborne to get out and see what this beautiful part of the country has to offer.

RERE ROCKSLIDE

If the waterslide within the festival isn't enough be sure to check out the Rere Rockslide, this waterfall that creates a natural waterslide is located at a 30min drive east of Gisborne and is a great way to refresh throughout the day.

WAINUI BEACH

Another great way to spend your day out of the campsite is heading over to Wainui beach, which is known for its good surf along the East cape and located just six kilometers from the centre of Gisborne city.

R&V POOL PARTIES AT THE EMERALD HOTEL

A definitive highlight of Rhythm & Vines is the pool party scene at the Emerald Hotel. Three afternoons of pre-Rhythm poolside daze with top DJs spinning the sounds of summer. Rub elbows with artists and celebs. Have a few drinks. Have a boogie. Go for a swim. Then hop on the exclusive Platinum Package festival bus out to R&V. Limited to 150 people each day. Make sure you don't miss out.
