WAIOHIKA ESTATE - The home of Rhythm and Vines

DECEMBER 29 - 31

discovery stage

Introducing the brand new discovery stage coming to Rhythm and Vines for the first time this year.  Its a chance to discover new creative talent, explore new and experimental genres, edgy twists, and provide a warm, welcoming setting away from all the other stages. Utilise the hammocks on the hillside, bean bags and picnic tables to sit back, relax, and discover.

Not only will the discovery stage the home to Giggle & Vines, but many acts. Including some of the following:

Dictaphone Blues:

‘With widescreen production Phil Spector might admire, hooks big enough to land swordfish, half-familiar melodies, and cannoning drums behind stacked-up jangle guitars and sweeping synth-strings, (Dictaphone Blues) is a sheer delight and only the hardest heart won't be amused, seduced and delighted’ - Graham Reid, (NZ Herald & Elsewhere)

Dave Weir:

Psychedelic Pop that blows through the house like a warm wind from the 1960s. Dave Weir's (The Nightshades, New Gum Sarn, Te Huhu) debut EP 'Food For Thought', nods to his first loves The Kinks, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles and David Bowie with a breezy and cheerful stomp.

Psychedelic-dance duo Dual combine dream-like vocals with driving drum beats and intoxicating riffs to create the Dual sound. Jagwar Ma and The Stone Roses thrown through a filter created in a dilapidated bungalow in the Coromandel. A quiet confidence gained through years of performing together creates a synchronicity rarely seen in a duo. Hooks and gliding vocals punctuate each Dual track and create a sound entirely their own. Debut EP due out this summer.
