RHYTHM STAGE | 31st DEC
Hailing from Liverpool, producer/singer-songwriter SG Lewis’s chill, moody tracks put us in just the right feels. From playing guitar in his bedroom to DJing to now playing his own original music to sold out crowds, 23-year-old Sam Lewis is a talent like no other. His music, an incredible combination of singer-songwriter vibes with R&B and electronic production, has an ethereal quality to it that is entirely unique.
His remix of Jessie Ware’s “You & I (Forever)” attracted the attention of Ware and Disclosure’s label, PMR Records, who then signed him. The British artist immediately made a mark with the wild success of his debut EP, Shivers, which featured several notable vocalists like JP Cooper and Louis Mattrs. The soulful, melancholic EP even got a stamp of approval from Pharrell and Justin Timberlake. His second EP, Yours, followed the trend of collaboration with the likes of Gallant and incorporated a new sonic level of confidence. But while he’s known for having done worked with some distinguished singers, the young artist is involved in all aspects of his craft, everything from the production to writing to singing, and now to the assembly of his live show.
With nearly 50 million streams on Spotify, it comes as no surprise that Lewis played to sold out crowds in major cities like Los Angeles on his first full U.S. tour. His most recent singles, “Smart Aleck Kill” featuring Col3trane and “Times We Had” featuring Toulouse, have likewise garnered fast attention. Fans wait in anticipation for his first full-length album, which Lewis has described as “not traditional.”
